ABERDARES NATIONAL PARK DAY TRIP –CHASING THE WATERFALLS

You will be met by our safari Guide at your hotel/resident in the early morning hours who will take you on drive to the insanely captivating Aberdares National Park. You will be on a mission to explore the majestic peaks, moorlands and the intriguing waterfalls in this hidden gem. Upon arrival, your adventure starts after clearing with the Park authorities as you embark on an exciting game drive across the iconic park making your first stop at the Kenya’s highest waterfall; -The magnificent Karuru water falls whose ice-cold crystal-clear waters drop an impressive 300meters, with the spectacular Gura water falls which torrent from the opposite side of the same gorge. You will marvel at the views of this thunderous waterfalls, before boarding your vehicle for your onward drive to the ‘enchanting Chania Waterfalls where you will spend spent a few minutes before continuing with your hunt for the waterfalls.

The icing of the cake will be at the Queens Cave at the Magura Waterfalls where you will enjoy your picnic lunch amidst breathtaking sights at this historical spot being one of the places where the Britain’s Princess Elizabeth loved visiting before she ascended to the throne upon the death of her father, King George in 1953.

You may be lucky to spot the elusive inhabitants of wildlife species common here including: Black rhino, Black Serval, Black Leopard (seldom seen) and the Eastern Bongo (a huge forest Antelope).Elephants, buffalos, giraffes, blue and colobus monkey, leopard, lion, warthog, giant forest hog, bushbuck, red duiker, suni, reedbuck and eland. For bird lovers the Jackson’s Francolin. 

Later in the afternoon you will proceed with your drive back to the gate as make your exit the park to embark on a journey back to Nairobi and be dropped at your hotel to enjoy the rest of the evening at leisure.
